September 10, 2019 - On September 6, 2019 the Lincoln County Water Rescue Team moved to the Outer Banks to assist with rescue efforts due to Hurricane Dorian. After completing the assignment, the team was demobilized and returned to Lincoln County.
The team was originally dispatched to Plymouth, NC on Tuesday (September 3, 2019) then transferred to Washington, NC where they awaited assignment from the North Carolina Emergency Operations Center.
On Friday (September 6, 2019) the Lincoln County Water Rescue Team demobilized from Washington, NC and was dispatched to the Outer Banks.
The 13-member team is comprised of fire fighters from Denver and East Lincoln Fire Departments and officers from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
