[ARCHIVED] Public Comment Period now open for transportation projects to be submitted to NCDOT

The GCLMPO has established a public comment period for the draft P6.0 project submittal list and the draft FY 2020-2021 Unified Planning Work Program.

THE GASTON-CLEVELAND-LINCOLN METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (GCLMPO) HAS ESTABLISHED A PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE DRAFT P6.0 PROJECT SUBMITTAL LIST AND THE DRAFT FY 2020-2021 UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM (UPWP)

The documents will be available for review and public comments will be received from February 1 – March 1, 2020

Draft P6.0 Project Submittal List
NCDOT uses a transparent, data-driven method for prioritizing transportation investment decisions. Through the process, called “Prioritization (P)”, potential transportation improvement projects are submitted to NCDOT to be scored and ranked at the statewide, regional, and division levels, based on approved criteria such as safety, congestion, benefit-cost, and local priorities. These scores and other factors are used to determine whether a project receives funding.

The Draft P6.0 Project Submittal List includes projects for all modes of transportation that the GCLMPO intends to submit to NCDOT for the current round of prioritization.

The Gaston-Cleveland-Lincoln Metropolitan Planning Organization (GCLMPO) conducts transportation planning in cooperation with the state and federal governments. The GCLMPO is required to approve a work program and budget to identify tasks and expenses for the upcoming fiscal year.
