In light of the COVID-19 public health concerns, Lincoln County continues to work under the direction of the Governor’s Office to follow the guidance of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). To date, Lincoln County has been fortunate having fewer reported positive cases of COVID-19; however, in order to maintain this course, the implementation of additional measures are warranted. During these challenging times, the County’s focus remains on the health, safety and general welfare of its citizens, businesses, and employees.
In a responsible effort to minimize the spread of the virus, the Board of County Commissioners will suspend public entry to all county buildings and offices effective April 13th and extending through April 27th, 2020. Modified limited public access will be implemented at the Lincoln County Courthouse for qualifying appearances. Although entry to the buildings will be prohibited, access to County services will continue to operate with minimal disruption as options for transactions to be completed remotely via phone or online will remain available. County employees will practice social distancing and an elevated level of hygiene and awareness during this time. In addition to the temporary closures, the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of County Commissioners for April 20th, 2020 has been cancelled. The next meeting will be held on May 4th, 2020.
All citizens are urged to do their part to decrease the spread of the virus in order to minimize the impacts to our healthcare facilities and providers. Information pertaining to COVID-19 is routinely updated on the
Lincoln County COVID-19 Recources Page and will provide future updates and instructions as they become available. For general questions regarding COVID-19 please call the Coronavirus Helpline at 1-866-462-3821.
