COVID-19 Community Considerations in Light of Recent Events 
Lincolnton, NC -

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners and the Lincoln County Board of Health would like to remind everyone to please continue to use common sense precautions and maintain the practice of wearing a cloth face covering when in public, especially where social distancing cannot be achieved, covering your sneezes and coughs, frequently washing your hands with soap and water or using appropriate hand sanitizer, maintaining a social distance of at least 6 feet when feasible, and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces in your homes and places of work. 

Use of social distancing is the best tool in lessening the effects of the coronavirus within Lincoln County. There is no zero-risk scenario currently, and our boards would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of our community member who recently passed away. This situation is very unfortunate and closely reminds us that the epidemic continues to be an affliction to our entire community. Due to the current upsurge in COVID-19 cases in Lincoln County and surrounding areas, and the undesirable outcome of losing one of our own, we want to stress the importance of doing your part and being a good steward of health to reduce the spread of COVID-19. 

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners and the Lincoln County Board of Health also ask that you continue to be mindful about what you read or hear regarding the coronavirus, and not contribute to unsubstantiated rumors in order to reduce community panic and stress. We understand that many of you have different feelings regarding COVID-19, but by relying on facts, we will be working together to keep our community safe and slow the spread of disease.
