[ARCHIVED] Call for Clay Artists

The Arts Council of Lincoln County cordially extends an invitation to all Catawba Valley Region potters to submit one piece of work representative to your style to our 8th Annual Catawba Valley Pottery Exhibition.

We are looking for both Traditional and Contemporary work for the exhibit entitled: Catawba Valley Pottery: Then and Now. There is no charge for this exhibition and work may be priced to sell. The Arts Council does reserve the right to a 30% commission on all work sold during the exhibition.
The exhibition will open on Tuesday, August 31 and close September 24, 2010. There will be a meet the artist reception on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. All artists are invited. Entries should be received no later than Friday, August 27 at 5 pm for inclusion in this exhibition. Work may be dropped off at the Arts Council office/gallery located at the Lincoln Cultural Center, 413 East Main Street or at Rising Sun Pottery located at 209 S. Academy Street in Lincolnton. Arts Council office/gallery drop off dates will be August 26 & 28 from 11am until 4:30 pm. Drop-off at Rising Sun Pottery will available August 26-28 from 10am-5pm.
All potters please submit a business card and/or short bio (100 words or less) to be placed with each entry (if space allows). Entries are limited to work that has not been previously shown or entered into any exhibition or competition of the Arts Council of Lincoln County. The exhibition will run through September 24, 2010 and all pieces should be picked up by September 30, 2010. Work may be picked up at either the Arts Council office/gallery or Rising Sun Pottery.
