[ARCHIVED] Flu Shots for Lincoln County Residents

Flu shots are available at the Lincoln County Health Department, 151 Sigmon Road, Lincolnton on a walk-in basis every Thursday from 1:00 - 5:00 and every Friday from 8:00 - 11:00 until April 15, 2011. The cost is $25.

Insurance, as well as Medicare and Medicaid, can be filed. This year's influenza vaccine is a combination shot which protects against both the regular seasonal flu and H1N1. Like other vaccines, flu shots are not 100% effective, but are still the best method of protection. Since influenza cases usually occur from November until April, and can take up to two weeks after vaccination for flu protection to develop, it is a good idea to get your vaccinations in October or November. Flu shots are recommended during any stage of pregnancy, with doctors' authorization and orders. For additional information, please contact (704) 735-3001.
