[ARCHIVED] Tylenol Recalled Due to Musty Odor

Health care products maker Johnson & Johnson has voluntarily recalled one product lot of Tylenol 8 Hour Extended Release Caplets, 150 count bottles distributed in the United States.

The lot number is ADM074 and the UPC Code is 300450297181 which can be found on the side of the bottle label. The recall is due to a musty odor thought to be caused by trace amounts of a chemical used to treat wooden pallets on which bottles are stored and shipped. Although the risk of adverse medical events is remote according to the company’s news release, patients who purchased this product from the lot included in this recall should stop using the product and contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare at 1-888-222-6036 or visit their website at www.tylenol.com for instructions about receiving a refund or product coupon. Patients who have medical concerns or questions are advised to contact their healthcare provider.
