Samuel Langhorne Clemons is widely regarded as one of America’s greatest writers for his novels, TOM SAWYER, HUCKLEBERRY FINN, PRINCE AND THE PAUPER, and his autobiographical woks.
Clemons, in his assumed name, Mark Twain, was also generally accepted as the greatest humorist in the world throughout a remarkable 40 year career of “lecturing” around the world.
Barrie Howard has taken the best of Twain’s great speeches and essays and presents them, much as the great humorist would have in the “stand up comedy” stage of the 19th century, the lecture hall.
MARK TWAIN LIVE! Is an entertaining, hilarious program using the words of Clemons himself to bring his adventures to life; boyhood on the frontier, life as a pilot on the Mississippi, the raucous untamed atmosphere of the Silver and Gold rush in the West, and the musings of a great writer, thinker, and moralist, delivered by a seasoned, talented stage veteran.
Audiences will be startled to find that the words and wisdom of this great American are just as relevant today, 100 years after his death.
