[ARCHIVED] Arts Council of Lincoln County Is Accepting Applications for its Grassroots Arts Program

The Arts Council of Lincoln County is accepting applications for its Grassroots Arts Program grants for the 2011-12 year.

The Grassroots Arts Program is sponsored by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, and is administered through the Arts Council of Lincoln County. Grants will be issued for cultural arts projects, events and services, which occur from July 1, 2011 until June 30, 2012.

Funds are available to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations, whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Lincoln County. Proposals will be evaluated for artistic merit, organizational stability, financial stability of the organization, audience development (size and cultural diversity), educational merit, responsiveness to the community’s artistic needs and community outreach. Grants have previously been award to art organizations, local theater groups, historical societies, and social service agencies.

A committee consisting of ACLC board members and Lincoln County representatives will review Grant requests. The board of directors will make funding decisions and grants will be awarded when the North Carolina Arts Council releases the funds.
