The Lincoln County Planning Board wants to hear your ideas on how you would like to see your community evolve over the next 10-20 years as new development occurs.
Two public input sessions are scheduled in November as efforts to reach out to citizens.
The purpose of the sessions is to identify community issues, values and assets as well as to gather thoughts on future development. What kinds of services, facilities and development do you want to see? What aspects of your area should be protected and preserved? How could proper planning help make your community an even better place to live and to do business?
The sessions will be held:
- Thursday, November 3, at 7 p.m. at the West Lincoln High School cafeteria.
- Thursday, November 10, at 7 p.m. at the Rock Springs Elementary School cafeteria.
The ideas that are gathered will assist the Planning Board in reviewing the Lincoln County Land Use Plan, which was last updated in 2007. The Land Use Plan describes where and how the county sees itself growing and serves as a basis for decisions on proposed development plans and rezoning requests. It includes future land-use maps and a set of guiding principles, objectives and strategies.
