The multi-talented Barrie Howard will appear at Charles R. Jonas Library located at 306 West Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092 on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
Howard’s show features music from the golden age of folk music, with songs by Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, and “traditional” tunes. His BLOWING IN THE WIND also includes narrative providing historical perspective to Americana music of the past 175 years.
Howard is noted for his classical guitar style, smooth vocals, and solid harmonica fills. He says “I also play enough banjo and 12 string so some people think I can do that too.” He often adds his own compositions to the shows. With songs about ax murderers, hippy, cowboy folksingers, and motorcycle-riding ladies, there are always a few laughs.
Admission is free. For more information, please contact Jackie Shaw at the Charles R. Jonas Library at (704) 735-8044.
