[ARCHIVED] E-Coli Outbreak : Lincoln County Health Department Update 10-16-2012

Confirmed cases of E.Coli continue to rise in Lincoln County, as well as in Gaston, Cleveland, York (SC) and now Union, Catawba and Cherokee (SC) counties.

The common link to this regional outbreak is that all affected persons attended the recent Cleveland County Fair. The Lincoln County Health Department is working closely with physicians, hospitals, other county health departments, and the State Division of Public Health on this matter. If you attended the Cleveland County Fair between September 26 and October 7, and are experiencing any of the symptoms listed below, please contact your doctor immediately.

Symptoms of infection include diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, which may be accompanied by abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Low-grade fever may be present as well.
