The Arts Council of Lincoln County wishes to announce its first Lincoln County Woodturners Exhibit. The exhibit will run April 12, 2013 to April 28, 2013 in the galleries of the Lincoln Cultural Center.
There will be a people’s choice awards presentation and opening reception for artists and the public on Friday April 12, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, sponsored in part by First Federal Bank of Lincolnton and Lassiter Family Dentistry of Lincolnton. The awards presentation will be about 7:pm. The community is invited to come vote for their favorite piece by the woodturners, enjoy light refreshments, and listen to the Old-time string music on guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin performed by Old Rusty Tractor.
Each woodturner will be allowed to enter up to 5 pieces of work. Entry fee for the show is $10.00 per person. Work will be accepted April 8 to April 10 from 10 am - 2 pm, in the galleries of the Lincoln Cultural Center. Call (704) 732-9044 for special arrangements. Unused entries will be available for pickup April 12 from 12 pm - 2 pm.
All pieces must be hand delivered and picked up. The Arts Council of Lincoln County reserves the right to refuse any work that is not compliant with the rules or is deemed inappropriate for display in a public building. Although all reasonable care will be given to all pieces entered, all entries are submitted at artist risk of loss or damage. All pieces may be for sale, but any work sold must remain on exhibit until the end of the show. The Arts Council of Lincoln County will retain a 30% commission for all work sold. All pieces in the exhibit, and not sold, may be picked up April 29 & 30 between the hours of 10 am - 2 pm. Special arrangements may be made to pick up pieces if needed.
