The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that we have entered in to final negotiations with William (Tracy) Jackson to serve as Lincoln County’s next County Manager.
As you are aware we have been in the process of recruiting a new County Manager for Lincoln County since George Wood announced his retirement effective June 30th. We received 38 applications for this position and are honored with the quality and the number of applicants that were interested in being the next County Manager of Lincoln County. We reduced this number to ten candidates, then reduced the field again to the top five. After those interviews the field was reduced to three highly qualified individuals. Any of these three would have served Lincoln County well.
The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that we have entered in to final negotiations with William (Tracy) Jackson to serve as Lincoln County’s next County Manager. He currently serves as the Assistant County Manager in Iredell County. He brings with him many years of experience in county government and we are excited that with his leadership, we can continue to move Lincoln County in a direction that promotes low taxes, provides quality schools, promotes much needed economic development, and provides needed services in the most cost effective manner.
I fully expect this to be on the August 19th agenda where we will discuss this and hopefully finalize the contract with Tracy. Assuming all goes well, we anticipate Tracy’s first day of work will be Sept 03rd.
We trust you will welcome Tracy and make him feel at home and show him why Lincoln County is such a great place to live.
