[ARCHIVED] New Option for Disposing of Construction & Demolition (C&D) Waste

Lake Norman C&D Landfill Available for Lincoln County Residents

Lincolnton, NC - August 22, 2014:

Effective Monday, September 1, 2014, Republic Services’ Lake Norman Landfill will accept construction & demolition (C&D) material from Lincoln County
residents at a reduced rate of $30 per load for pick-ups or single axle trailers. Keep in mind this rate is by load and not by weight. A resident will
be allowed to use the Republic Landfill for the reduced rate as long as a current Lincoln County Solid Waste sticker is displayed on his/her vehicle
windshield. This will provide residents another option for disposing of C&D-related waste. Wheelbarrow-size loads of C&D material are still accepted at
Lincoln County Solid Waste Convenience Sites. Any larger amount will need to be disposed of at a landfill. The Lake Norman C&D Landfill is located at 7099
Quarry Lane in Stanley which is just south of the Hwy 73/Business Hwy 16 intersection. The hours of operation for the Lake Norman C&D Landfill are Monday
through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Saturday and Sunday. Residents that own businesses or that are contractors may use the Lake Norman
C&D Landfill at a rate of $38.75 per ton (one ton minimum) plus a fuel and environmental recovery fee.

As a reminder, Lincoln County Solid Waste still accepts C&D waste at its Crouse Landfill at the rate of $30.00 per ton.

Contact Bart Keller, General Manager, Republic Services – Charlotte at 704-262-6002 if you have questions regarding the Lake Norman C&D Landfill.
