The Hog Happenin is a regional bike fest and Championship Barbeque Cookoff that brings motorcycles and Barbeque together in downtown Lincolnton. This unique event draws visitors from across the Southeast Region.
This is a Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned North Carolina State Championship Barbeque Cook-off. While there are many hog events throughout North Carolina, Lincolnton was the first to combine the animal with the mechanical. The 2001 event was the winner of the North Carolina Department of Commerce’s award for Best Downtown Special Event in North Carolina.
The event will be Friday, June 5th 6:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturday, June 6th 10:00am to 6:00pm. The City of Lincolnton and the Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton are the primary organizers with volunteer support from members of Christian Motorcycle Association, the Lincolnton/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, the American Legion Riders and the Lincoln County Cruisers Motorcycle Riding Club. Attendance is expected to be between 5,000 to 7,000.
