[ARCHIVED] Building Permits & Inspections Operations Schedule

The Planning & Inspections Department will be altering their operations from Friday, March 31 - Tuesday, April 4 as the final step in a software transition takes place. During this time no permits will be issued and limited inspections will be scheduled.

This is a busy and exciting time for Lincoln County Planning & Inspections as we prepare to launch a new Permitting and Inspections software platform that we have been working tirelessly on for over a year. The new system called TRAKiT will bring many advancements, efficiencies and improvements to Lincoln County’s system. One of the major improvements that will be immediately visible is the instant availability of inspections results once an inspection is completed. Another improvement that will be visible is the ability to apply for permits, pay for permits, schedule inspections and view results online. This feature will be available shortly after the release of the product.

In order to facilitate the transition from one system to another, we will not be accepting or processing new permit applications or scheduling any inspections for 3 days, Friday, March 31- Tuesday, April 4. We will be making limited exceptions from Final Inspections that may be holding up a Certificate of Occupancy, concrete inspections and electrical service inspections. We request that each contractor make plans to accommodate this interruption in service. If you do need to schedule any of the inspection types mentioned above we ask that you do them by Wednesday, March 29 so that they can have paperwork generated. I am sure there will be exceptions to this standard but we will limit it to emergencies. We fully anticipate being back at in operation on Wednesday, April 5.

Our staff has worked very hard and Lincoln County has invested a lot into this new system. We all hope that the transition will be as seamless as possible but I encourage each of you and the contractors you work with to be patient with our staff in this transition time as we strive to make this work great for everyone. We look forward to working with each of you on this new system as we feel it will bring levels of efficiency and transparency to our process that have been needed for a long time. I will be reaching out again next month through our statement mailings again to advise each of you on some trainings that we will be setting up on how to access and use the new system.
