Posted on: July 3, 2018[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: Lincoln County Animal Services Reaches No Kill Goal
Lincoln County Animal Services is extremely pleased to announce that we have now attained a live release rate of 90% and above, for both dogs and cats, for 12 months. This forward thinking goal was set for us by the Board of Commissioners back in 2013.
While we are happy to have been able to achieve this goal, our next steps are to maintain this No Kill designation throughout the years to come. We appreciate the support and involvement of everyone in the community who has made this possible, and look forward to continuing to improve our services for people and animals in Lincoln County moving forward.
To achieve this goal we have been working diligently on all parts of the No Kill Equation, with the intent of saving the lives of all animals that can be saved. We would also like to highlight some of our new and upcoming programs that will help us create a long lasting No Kill Community here in Lincoln County.
THE CAT FIX PROJECT
Our new Cat Fix Project aims to spay and neuter all community cats. If you have outdoor cats that need to be fixed, please contact our Cat Fix Project Coordinator at communitycats@lincolncounty.org, and we will work with you to fix these cats for free!
PET RESOURCE PROGRAM
Our upcoming Pet Resource Program will be led by a Pet Resource Coordinator, which will be a new position at Lincoln County Animal Services. This program will work with residents to assist them in providing for their pet’s needs, with the goal of keeping pets happy in their homes - and out of the shelter!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
STAYING ALIVE NO KILL CELEBRATION (July 21st 12pm-4pm) – Join us at the shelter on Saturday July 21st from 12-4pm to help us celebrate a year of No Kill – donations for our animals are appreciated!
