The Lincoln County Planning Board and the Planning & Inspections Dept. will hold a Public Involvement Session on October 13th to discuss and receive comments concerning the proposed DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT for the newly adopted Unified Development Ordinance.
This first of two public involvement sessions will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Unity Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall located at 8210 Unity Church Road in Denver, NC.
The present UDO was adopted as a document that addressed the basic needs and development standards of the entire county. The purpose of the proposed Development Districts is to address the growth opportunities in the rapidly developing sectors of Lincoln County which standards that are not apart of the UDO and are in accordance with the Lincoln County Land Plan.
The Public Involvement Session will begin with a brief overview by the Planning Board and Planning Staff outlining the concept for the new Development District that will be a section in the UDO. Breakout sessions will be held following this overview to gain specific and detailed recommendations by the public on what standards the citizens would like to see in eastern Lincoln County. Planning Board members and Lincoln County Planning Staff will be available to answer questions and capture any additional comments.
