After a recent event with four police officers at atrium health and a mentally ill teenager, it would be best for the community for serious action to be taken. If training has not been done already, a psychoeducational training from mental health professionals in the area would be beneficial for all police officers. If training has been conducted, training needs to be revisited.

It would be great if the county or city invested in placing benches around the Main Street Courthouse. This would allow people a place to sit in the shade, and if you combined this with infographics such as history of Lincolnton, recreation in Lincoln County, "Where to go next?" business display and so on, this could be a great relaxing area for locals and visitors all the same.

It would be good to see clean-ups organized for various locations around the city or county as a whole. Work to organize a sponsor for the cleanup such as a brewery, restaurants, and other retailers....

It would be good to see clean-ups organized for various locations around the city or county as a whole. Work to organize a sponsor for the cleanup such as a brewery, restaurants, and other retailers. This could get the community active and taking pride in what is here, connect them to businesses and give businesses the opportunity to network and advertise as well.

I would like to preface this by saying I do not know how the City could make this happen or all the ramifications from this idea, but I think it would be good to change things up on main street. I am new to the area, but it seems that we have a disproportional amount of churches, law firms, real-estate, and insurance offices. Main street in my opinion should be a location where people from out of town visit and can spend hours looking around shops, getting something to eat and enjoy their time. Outside of the empty facilities that currently do not have anyone in them, main street is boring and uninviting. I think that there should be more incentive for business such as other restaurants, other retailers, and anything else that people would like to see while on vacation. We have a potentially beautiful and truly southern main street, lets make it where people from around the state and beyond talk about the wonderful time they had in downtown Lincolnton.
