I would like to preface this by saying I do not know how the City could make this happen or all the ramifications from this idea, but I think it would be good to change things up on main street. I am new to the area, but it seems that we have a disproportional amount of churches, law firms, real-estate, and insurance offices. Main street in my opinion should be a location where people from out of town visit and can spend hours looking around shops, getting something to eat and enjoy their time. Outside of the empty facilities that currently do not have anyone in them, main street is boring and uninviting. I think that there should be more incentive for business such as other restaurants, other retailers, and anything else that people would like to see while on vacation. We have a potentially beautiful and truly southern main street, lets make it where people from around the state and beyond talk about the wonderful time they had in downtown Lincolnton.
